Use MatIQ to run your program better. Pay your invoice on time. Don't misuse the platform and don't harass coaches. If something isn't working, tell me and I'll fix it.
These terms apply to all users of MatIQ Coach, MatIQ Pro, MatIQ Department, Clear State by MatIQ, the MatIQ program needs list, and the College Recruiting Plan. By signing up, purchasing, or using any of these you agree to them.
MatIQ is an operating system for college athletic programs and athletes.
Clear State by MatIQ is a mindset performance tool for competitive athletes. It is not therapy, counseling, medical advice, psychiatric treatment, diagnosis, or a substitute for care from a licensed professional. It is not a crisis service and no human monitors it in real time.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988, or go to your nearest emergency room.
Clear State purchased directly is available to adults 18 and over.
Clear State enrolled through a college program is available to enrolled collegiate student-athletes.
MatIQ services are not intended for anyone under 13.
MatIQ Coach and MatIQ Pro are billed annually on a single invoice. There is no monthly option on the program side.
Program invoices are split into two payments. Half is due at signing. The second half is due at day 90 and is owed only if the delivery commitment below is met.
Every recruiting call uploaded returns a full report and a ready-to-send follow-up draft within 24 hours. If MatIQ misses more than two of those in the first 90 days, the second payment is voided. This commitment applies in any month where the program uploads at least 10 recruiting calls. MatIQ voids the invoice without the coach having to request it.
Founding and charter program pricing is locked and will not increase while the subscription remains active. If a client cancels and later returns, standard pricing applies.
Clear State is billed monthly or annually depending on the plan selected, and renews automatically until cancelled.
Cancel any time by emailing info@joinmatiq.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. There are no cancellation fees.
Beyond the delivery commitment above, program fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law. Billing questions go to info@joinmatiq.com.
This service is delivered in two stages.
The Assessment. An evaluation of your athlete and a list of programs to target. Delivered within a few business days of purchase.
The Outreach. Custom outreach materials built around your athlete and the programs on your list. Delivered after you confirm in writing that you want to proceed.
Before the Assessment is delivered, cancel for a full refund for any reason.
After the Assessment is delivered and before the Outreach begins, cancel for a refund of half the amount paid.
Once the Outreach is delivered, the service is complete and no refund is available. It is custom work built for one athlete and cannot be returned.
Moving from the Assessment to the Outreach requires your confirmation in writing, by email or text. Refunds are not available after that confirmation and delivery.
Payment is made by a parent or legal guardian for athletes under 18.
Refund requests go to info@joinmatiq.com and are answered within two business days.
MatIQ does not guarantee a roster spot, an athletic scholarship, admission to any school, or a response from any coach. Program needs are reported by the programs themselves, are refreshed on a rolling basis, and can change without notice. Confirm current openings directly with the program.
Recruiting Call Coach is a staff development tool for college coaches. A coach submits a recruiting call transcript and receives written coaching on how the call went, along with one specific thing to work on before the next call.
It is a training tool. It does not make recruiting decisions, evaluate athletes, or guarantee any recruiting outcome.
Recruiting Call Coach is sold to athletic departments and coaching staffs. When an institution purchases access, the institution is the customer and individual coaches are authorized users. The institution is responsible for telling its staff that access has been provided and for removing users who leave.
MatIQ does not record any calls. The service accepts a written transcript or typed notes that you provide.
Federal law and the laws of several states govern the recording of conversations. Some states require the consent of every person on the call. You are responsible for knowing and following the law where you and the other person are located, and for obtaining consent before recording anything.
Typed notes work as well as a transcript. Nothing in this service requires you to record a call.
The transcript is used to generate your feedback and is then discarded. It is not retained after processing is complete.
What persists is the written feedback, the discovery score, and the item assigned for you to work on.
If your institution has designated a head coach or administrator, that person can see whether you are using the service, your score over time, what you are currently working on, and what you have improved.
They cannot see your transcripts and they cannot see your written feedback. That content stays with the coach who ran the call.
An institution receives an aggregate summary. Participation, calls run, average scores across the staff, and what improved. Individual scores are not attributed to named coaches in any report provided to an athletic director or institutional administrator.
The discovery score measures how much you learned about the recruit during the call. It is a coaching aid and nothing more.
It is not a performance evaluation, it is not a measure of coaching ability, and it is not intended for use in any employment decision. MatIQ does not provide the score for use in hiring, firing, promotion, or performance review, and does not support its use for those purposes.
Workshops are billed per engagement and are due before delivery. If MatIQ cancels a scheduled workshop, the fee is refunded in full. Ongoing access is billed per the terms of the applicable agreement.
MatIQ does not guarantee a recruiting outcome, a signed athlete, an improvement in any score, or that any coach will benefit from the service. Coaching feedback is an opinion, generated with the assistance of an AI model, and may be wrong.
The free program needs list displays weight classes and graduation years that college programs have told MatIQ they are recruiting, along with contact information those programs publish on their own public athletics directories.
This information is provided so athletes and families can contact programs about recruiting. You agree to use it only for that purpose. You agree not to send spam, repeated unwanted messages, or harassing communication, not to copy, scrape, resell, or republish the list, and to stop contacting a coach who asks you to. MatIQ may remove your access at any time for violating this.
Any message you send goes from your own email account, in your name, directly to the program. Replies go to you.
Program needs change. MatIQ refreshes the list on a rolling basis and cannot guarantee that any listing is current at the moment you read it.
You agree to use MatIQ only for lawful purposes. You may not use MatIQ to violate any law, infringe anyone's rights, upload harmful or malicious content, or attempt to access another program's data or systems.
You may not use MatIQ or Clear State to send harassing, abusive, threatening, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate content. This includes hate speech, content that sexualizes minors, and content intended to intimidate or harm. Violation may result in immediate termination without refund. MatIQ will report illegal content to the appropriate authorities.
You own your data. MatIQ processes it only to deliver the service. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with third parties for marketing. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
All MatIQ software, content, branding, and systems are the property of MatIQ. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without written permission.
MatIQ is provided on an as-is basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MatIQ is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid MatIQ in the twelve months before the claim.
We may update these terms. If we make material changes we will notify active users by email before they take effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
